Portland Maine! End of last summer til about now.

dj, congress square park
So much time has passed my friends & much to catch up on! :)  I hope that spring has sprung for you & that you & yours are happy & peaceful.  Spring is coming along in Maine, things are budding out & jackets are becoming lighter.  It's a good feeling, y'all!  As mentioned in prior blog post I have now been in Portland ONE YEAR!  Anniversary & all...  It has been a good & challenging year, I have learned a lot & I have had a lot of fun!  This is a photo retrospective that I hope you will enjoy.

sailing Casco Bay

broken bridge, East End

White Mountains, New Hampshire, Baldface Loop.  One of my only ventures out to the mtns. for hiking, it was fall & all the leaves changing, just beautiful.

An activity around here in the fall is "leafpeeping", driving out into the countryside for leaf color viewing, very New England, very charming :)

went for a sail on an age old schooner

it's a schooner not a sailboat!

glowing sky view from school of the hospital I do clinicals at most of the time.   the grand old Maine Med!

art museum, trip to Boston, leaf peepin'' yo!

Thanksgiving in New Hampshire.  This was the onset of the snowy winter.

lovely light install by the talented Pandora LaCasse!  during winter there are many parks, buildings and squares decorated by this fabulous light art :)

princess Circepants has been well, she always studies with me :)

and then the cross country skiing bonanza began.  i got a cheap pair of vintage used skis & skied the hell out of them.  skiing & getting out really helped combat the long winter bluesies.

here you will find me skiing down the main drag in Portland during a blizzard, good times!

out at the golf course where i skied A LOT!

snow snow snow

probably was skiing here too!

icy ice on Casco Bay

she's a cold one out there

brrrrrrr!  but, happy!

some dear friends, Elysia & Kim visited from out west.  showed them the time in the outer portico of a restaurant.  with miss Evelyn!

Elysia, planking it, late night style

oh yes, we will mess around with optical illusions too!

and stop action snowbank jumps!

the rockettes of cross country skiing took a hut to hut trip for a few days up north.  these huts were deluxe & we enjoyed ourselves so much.  the skiing was awesome, the weather a perfect mix, the food & beer did not disappoint!

Audrey Hepburn joined us as well

at the first hut, so nordic!

my vintage boots had a minor disfunction and separated at the soles during a butt ski fall moment.  fortunately, the staff at the hut are expert at devising an duct tape scheme!  (the duct tape fix lasted the rest of the season, not pretty but functional.)

view of sugarloaf mtn from the trail

we did have some fun

and we did drink a little whiskey

but just a little

Elysia & I back in Portland

could be antarctica

another winter activity, snowshoeing!

one of my recent life highlights, i am a dj at a local radio station, my show gives me a lot of happiness!!!!!!!

and... the end of an era, i just finished my last semester  (there were only two) of wearing these royal blue school scrubs.  i may now wear scrubs of any color of the rainbow, liberation!
In a nutshell, that's been my year.  There have been some ups & downs but mostly fun times!  I always feel lucky to have so much opportunity for learning & experience & growth.  I can't get enough of that stuff.  I am gearing up to have the best summer ever in Maine!  Stay in touch & visit whenever you want!
